Lasik eye surgery is a corrective treatment preformed to treat poor eye sight. A complete eye examination is preformed before surgery and will be used by the surgeon as a canvas to know what and where alterations need to take place within the eye. The size and position of the pupil, as well as, the overall shape of the eye needs to be appropriate in order to ensure that the procedure can be performed.

Lasik eye surgery is an outpatient treatment that is performed in as short as a half an hour. The surgeon inserts a microkeratome to cute a small flap of corneal tissue from the eye. The flap is lifted and then a laser is used to reshape the eye, the flap is then replaced and secured. It is a simple yet very precise surgery that requires the skill and expertise of a qualified surgeon.

Lasik eye surgery is a procedure that is expensive but considered well worth it by many. The cost of corrective surgery can range anywhere from $500 and eye to $2,500 an eye. When considering eye treatment the surgeon, cost, and the risks associated with the surgery should all be taken into consideration before committing to the procedure.
